for Custom Printing and Engraving Services

Hello and welcome to Drop of Colour! We’re excited to bring your custom ideas to life with our top-notch printing services. Before we dive into the creative magic, please take a moment to review our terms and conditions. By placing an order with us, you’re giving your enthusiastic nod to these guidelines. Let’s get started!

1. Order Placement on Custom Printed Products

  • How to Order: You can place your order on our website, visit us in person, or simply email your request to orders@dropofcolour.co.za.
  • Deposit Details: A 50% deposit is required to secure your order. Once we receive it, your project is officially in the works!
  • Balance Payment: The remaining 50% is due upon delivery. Please note, if the balance isn’t settled, your order may be held or subject to additional fees.

2. Artwork Submission

  • Your Design, Your Rules: Please send us print-ready artwork that meets the following criteria:
    • Accepted Formats: .PNG, .PSD, .AI, Corel Draw, TIFF, and .PDF.
    • Quality Counts: Your artwork should be at least 300 DPI to ensure crisp, quality prints.
    • Backgrounds: For the best results, remove any backgrounds from your design. Need a hand? We offer background removal at R200 per hour.
    • Artwork Assistance: If your design isn’t quite production-ready, we can help for R450 per hour.
  • DTF Roll Prints: When ordering DTF roll prints, your artwork will be printed exactly as submitted. Non-transparent backgrounds will be visible, and the quality of your design directly impacts the final product.

3. Approval Process

  • Proof It Out: We’ll send you a digital proof for approval before we begin production—if we’re handling the artwork creation.
  • Sample Requests: If you’d like to see a physical sample, just let us know. Sample pricing is determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Revisions: One round of revisions is included in the proofing process; extra tweaks might have a small additional fee.

4. Printing Techniques and Services

We offer a range of printing services designed to suit your creative needs:

  • Label Printing
  • Large Format Printing
  • Heat Transfer Vinyl Printing
  • DTF (Direct-to-Film) Printing
  • UVDTF Printing

Each service follows the friendly proofing process described in Section 3.

5. Colour Variation Notice

  • Screen vs. Reality: The colours you see on your screen might not match the final product exactly due to monitor differences, humidity, and temperature variations.
  • Unique Equipment: Every printer has its own settings, so slight variations are part of the creative charm.
  • Samples for Assurance: If perfect colour matching is essential, we recommend ordering a physical sample.

6. Artwork Accuracy Disclaimer

  • We are not liable for any inaccuracies or colour discrepancies in the artwork you provide.
  • It’s important to verify that your design is accurate and exactly how you want it before giving the green light.

7. Production Times and Delays

  • Timelines: We’ll share your project’s production timeline when you place your order.
  • Rush Orders: Orders over 10 linear meters or those requiring extra attention may be classified as rush orders.
  • Unexpected Delays: Sometimes life happens—power outages, natural events, or other uncontrollable circumstances might cause delays. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way!

8. Non-Refundable Delays

  • Beyond Our Control: Delays due to mechanical issues or artwork discrepancies are beyond our control.
  • No Cancellations: Even with our backup power systems in place, if delays occur, cancellations won’t be an option.

9. Emergency Jobs

  • Need It ASAP? We do offer emergency printing jobs at an extra cost, Feel free to contact us on orders@dropofcolour.co.za
  • Note: Even expedited orders are subject to the occasional delay mentioned in Section 8.

10. Garment and Material Requirements

  • Quality Check: If you’re providing your own garments for printing, they must be new, clean, and free of blemishes.
  • Our Right: We reserve the right to refuse items that don’t meet these quality standards.

11. Photo and Design Permissions

  • Parental Consent: For photo printing involving individuals under the legal age, parental or guardian permission is required.
  • Image Guidelines: We don’t accept vulgar, sexual, or morally compromising images.
  • Impersonation: Materials that impersonate law enforcement, medical, or government entities are strictly off-limits.

12. Cancellation and Refunds

  • Production Commitment: Once your order enters the production phase, cancellations are not possible.
  • Refund Requests: Must be submitted within 24 hours of delivery and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • No Refunds: If your product is delivered in good condition, refunds are not available.

13. Quality Assurance

  • Our Promise: We’re dedicated to delivering top-notch quality with every print.
  • Artistic Variations: Minor differences in colour or placement are part of the creative process and do not qualify for refunds.

14. Shipping

  • Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for shipping fees.
  • Our Partner: We work with Courier Guy (our preferred courier) to safely deliver your order.
  • Tracking: You’ll receive tracking information, though we aren’t liable for delays caused by third-party carriers.

15. Intellectual Property

  • Your Design: Ensure you have the rights to use and reproduce any artwork you submit.
  • Our Right: We reserve the right to refuse orders if we suspect any intellectual property issues.
  • Privacy of Your Artwork: Under no circumstances will we share your artwork or photos of your artwork in any manner—including on social media—without your explicit consent.
  • Liability: You assume all legal responsibility for any issues arising from your submitted design.

16. Communication

  • Stay in Touch: We’ll communicate via the contact details you provide.
  • Quick Replies: We aim to respond to all queries within 24 hours because keeping the conversation flowing is key to a great experience!

17. Privacy Policy

  • Your Information: Your privacy is important to us. We keep your details confidential and use them solely for processing your order.

18. Governing Law

  • Legal Stuff: These terms are governed by the laws of [insert applicable country/state]. Any disputes will be handled in line with these laws.

19. Dispute Resolution

  • Let’s Talk It Out: Any disputes will first be addressed through mediation. If that doesn’t work, we may need to move to arbitration or local courts.

20. Warranty Disclaimer

  • Our Commitment: We guarantee that our products are made with quality in mind.
  • Equipment Variations: However, please note that not all heat presses and equipment are manufactured equally. This can sometimes result in slight differences in the final print appearance.
  • Our Responsibility: If you receive your prints and they meet our established quality assurance standards, we cannot accept claims for issues arising solely from equipment variability.
